“Geopak” Gibier Series Finale to be Held – Collaborative Event with Shizuoka Gas

As part of their collaborative project, the Izu Peninsula Geopark Bureau and Shizuoka Gas have been organising Geopak, a series of events to review and utilize foods from Izu Peninsular Geopark.

This year’s theme is "gibier," or game meat, and the first and second sessions introduced ways of eating it that can easily be incorporated into daily life. High in protein, low in calories, and rich in iron, game meat is a highly nutritious food suitable for building strength in athletes and children, and preventing anemia in women.

In this final session of this year's event, a panel of hunters, chefs, researchers, and others involved with game will discuss its appeal, the aim being to let participants understand and utilize this kind of meat themselves.

After the panel discussion, participants will taste some game dishes prepared by the chef-owner of Cava.k, a Western restaurant that serves game. They will be invited to enjoy the game dishes with beer from the venue, Baird Beer.
