Applications Open for Academic Grants for Izu Peninsula Research

The Izu Peninsula Geopark and Tourism Bureau supports research studies related to Izu Peninsula Geopark sites in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The purpose is to accumulate academic materials, which are the foundation of the Geopark. the Bureau provides academic grants to researchers to support their research expenses.

Applications for the 2022 Izu Peninsula Geopark Academic Research Grant are currently open.

There are no restrictions on applications and anyone engaged in research is eligible to apply. The grant is capped at ¥300,000 per project, with about three projects expected to be adopted.

Deadline: Applications must arrive by November 30, 2022

If selected for the grant, researchers will present their results at a session to be held by the Geopark and Tourism Bureau in the summer of 2023 (planned).
