The Izu Peninsula Geopark and Tourism Bureau and Shizuoka Gas Co., Ltd. will hold an event called "Geo Paku" as part of a collaborative project to renew interests in the local food in the Izu Peninsula Geopark.
Gibier is high in protein, low in calories, and high in iron, and is highly nutritious. It is also a food suitable for building the body of athletes and preventing anemia among women. This time, it is a program for parents and children to make "Korean-style seaweed rolls of deer meat" using game meat obtained in Izu and commercially available. Professor Yoko Ichikawa from the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences, University of Shizuoka, invented this unique recipe. She will hold a brief lecture on the day.
