The Geopark Promotion Department of the Izu Peninsula Geopark and Tourism Bureau will hold its Advanced Geo Test on Sunday, January 15, 2023. The test is available to anyone who has passed the Geo Test Level 3 (approximately 4,400 people), and tests deeper and broader knowledge of the Geopark. People will be certified as Level 1 or 2, depending on their score. Those who achieve Level 1 will have their name plate displayed at the Georia Museum in Izu Peninsula Geopark.
Tests will be held at three venues in Numazu, Ito and Shimoda. Each venue will stop accepting new entrants as soon as it reaches capacity.
The questions will be a combination of multiple choice and descriptive, with a maximum score of 50 points. There will be questions not only about earth science and the Geopark, but also about the geography, history, and industry of the Izu Peninsula. A score of 45 or higher is required to pass Level 1, and 35-44 to pass Level 2.
