The Georia Museum at Izu Peninsula Geopark will hold a workshop titled "What We Can Learn from Mountain Walks: Making Pencils from Tree Branches."
In the first half, participants will consider the local ecosystem based on their observations of nature and evidence of wildlife around Georia. In the second half, they will make pencils from tree branches on the Georia terrace.
The lecturer, Ido, regularly engages in activities bringing people closer to forests, such as satoyama conservation related to woodland development and wildlife, environmental education focusing on nature tours, and the utilization of unused forest resources. This workshop will help participants to develop an eye for nature observation, and encourage them to learn more about the natural environment around them.
