Murals of Shiraiwa, volcaniclastic flow and pumice stone of a submarine volcano
Landscape formed by subaqueous volcaniclastic flow accompanying volcanic eruption of a submarine volcano; layers of pumice stone and volcanic ash accumulated on the ocean floor.
A Buddha figure (Mt. Shiraiwa Rock Face Cave Mural) was carved in medieval times on the rock face of the white layer of volcanic ash left by a submarine volcano eruption, giving the visitors a glimpse into the connection between nature and the people.
In Sawada Park you can enjoy an open-air hot spring bath (Sawada Park Open-air Hot Spring Bath), and a panoramic view of Dogashima.
