The Izu Peninsula Geopark and Tourism Burau starts this year's Izu Peninsula Geo Test (Grade 3) on Friday, July 15. You can enjoy learning about the history, culture, and society of the Izu Peninsula. The test questions are now available at not only the tourism section of the 15 municipalities of the Izu Peninsula Geopark and the Geopark Visitor Center, but also some supermarkets and stations.
The test was started in FY2012, and this is the 11th time. Admission is free. You can answer the questions at your own pace at home, referring to books and the Internet. It is also allowed to take the test while sharing your insight with your family and colleagues. Recently, there is a growing movement to take the test in groups where all employees of organizations and businesses take the test. You can get the test questions at some supermarkets (Nagaya, MaxValu, Aoki, etc.), stations, and sales offices (of Izukyu, Izuhakone Railway, Tokai Bus) (with some exceptions).
The deadline is Wednesday, August 31. If you answer 35 out of 50 questions correctly, you pass the test. If you pass the test, you will be qualified to take the 1st or 2nd grade exam, and you will also be eligible to participate in the Geo Guide training course scheduled for this fiscal year.
