Roadside Station Amagigoe

  • Lava plateau of Esashinomine Volcano; landscape of Hachikuboyama scoria cone; Jindaisugi’ cedars of Kawagodaira Volcano


    The smooth expanse of flat rock that lies at the bottom of Namesawa Valley is actually lava that flowed from the Namesawa Volcano. Columnar jointing is also visible.

    Visitors can enjoy the gently flowing river and the forest. Autumn colors are another major attraction of the area.

You can reach the location by taking the Tokai bus from Shuzenji Station of the Izuhakone Railway to Namesawa Valley bus stop (40 minutes) and from there it is about 10 minutes by foot.
